    The first option sounds like the registrar or provider will register the domain name for you and will automatically renew every year. Other option means you have to contact a registrar directly and handle it all on your own.
    Alot will depend on which is better, if you are familiar with doing it yourself…then do it yourself. If not, have the provider handle it for you.

    Unless you have the technical expertise to understand the second option, I would go with option 1 just for the sake of saving you huge headaches. Otherwise you have to know the Name Servers of your website provider, IP addresses, etc etc.
